She's Just Drawn This Way
About J. Simone
What would you like to know about J. Simone?
She loves the colors red and orange (though not together), hugs, sudoku, people who ask "How are you?" and truly want an answer, learning new things, great theater and cinema (you can sometimes catch her crying at the sappy ones) and laughing.

J. has several tattoos (6 and by the time you read this it may be 7) authorization to drive a motorcycle and
has made several grown men cry - some with looks, most with words, and one with her fists after she saw him attack his girlfriend.  Don't play!

poet, performer, survivor, superhero

   J. Simone has been called many things: blessed, crazy, inspired, talented, powerful, silly, deep, heroic, strange, amazing, and on good days, cute :o)   She has embraced several of these as true. She takes you by the hand to walk down the hallway of her innermost thoughts, making you feel welcome.

   J. Simone has performed on stages all across the country. She has competed in local competitions as well as the National Poetry Slam. You may have seen her performing on television or more intimately on the street. This poetess lyrically paints vivid pictures of life, love and truth, using the page as her canvas.
She hands you her heart and asks that you follow yours.

This dynamic artist has graced colleges, churches, high schools, performance halls, subway trains and street corners. In addition, J. Simone teaches children and young adults how to change their concept of freedom and empowerment through poetry and self expression. This busy lady also finds the time to educate others about Lupus

Power is found in her words. Praise is given to her work. Poise is seen in her performance.

J. Simone strives to change the world, one mic, one crowd at a time.   Now, that’s my kind of woman!
